So Far So Good![]()
I’d have to say that so far this Blu-ray player has been great. No hitches at all, I did just upgrade the firmware the other day and I haven’t tried it since and I know a few people had issues with that but I’ll update my opinion if there is an issue. But bang for the buck it’s a pretty damn good player.
Great First Blu Ray Player![]()
The Samsung BD-P1500 is a great first blu ray player. I have the player connected via optical to my Denon receiver and via HDMI to my Pioneer PDP-5080HD and it looks and sounds fantastic. I also have a Toshiba HD-A3 and the PQ is very comparable. I do like that I can output a 1080p 24hz signal to my display which is a plus over my A3. I have had zero issues with BD playback. It works flawlessly. My only complaint, and it’s minor, is that there is no fan in the player. Instead of a fan it uses the metal bottom as a heat sink and it can get very hot. I wouldn’t recommend keeping the player in a closed cabinet because it can get very hot after extended use. Overall, this is a great player and a bargain at the current price.
