Great Picture
This is my first hdtv television and the word that comes to mind to best describe its image quality is “crisp.” You will definitely see everything your picture source has to offer. And even many analog cable channels look better on this set than they do on my old 32″ Sony CRT model. The many available inputs allow you to hook up just about any peripheral you want. The sound quality from the built-in speakers is better than you might expect, especially considering their size. This lc sharp model is also quite “green” as, according to my Kill-A-Watt electricity monitor, it consumes only 18 Watts when turned off and 183 Watts when operating.
What’s not to like? The manual is somewhat skimpy and unclear in some areas. The placement of the buttons on the remote could have been more user-friendly, as the ones you use the most are close to less-used buttons. Operating this remote by touch only, without looking to see what you’re pressing, is fairly difficult. And changing channels can take several seconds, especially when going from a digital to an analog channel, and vice-versa. This is common with many brands, however. Otherwise, no complaints and I’d definitely buy a sharp lcd hdtv again
sharp lcd hdtv 32-inch 1080p review
I got this Television Projection from Amazon on its thanksgiving special offers. I got this for ~ $700 and its a great deal in terms of getting the MAX specs in terms of HD (1080p) resolution and in terms of aesthetics. As Sharp was one of the few pioneers in starting the concept of LCD Projection TV, i can trust this company than any other. The lc sharp arrived in great condition. It had all the accessories. It has a sleek look with a great shiny black finish with tons of ports. You wont run out of ports if you are looking for more accessories to hook onto to this sharp lcd hdtv. I have my traditional DVD player and my playstation 3 hooked on to this hdtv television and the resolution is simple superb with excellent contrast ratio and astounding colors. The colors are never too bright or too dull and there is a built in sensor to detect ambient light conditions and accordingly change its brightness/contrast ratios. It also has an inbuilt automatic mechanism (which most other LCD HDTVs do not) to resample/downsample pixel resolution on the go rather than taking a response time (it has instantaneous resampling which makes the picture never jitter or show box like patterns when there is a transition in scenes with different frame rates and different native resolutions). Overall, its the King of all HD’s and no one can say anything negative about this sharp lcd hdtv.
makes a great computer monitor for gaming
The size is great for playing games, of course, and the resolution looks good. The colors are better than my other LCD Projection TV monitors I’ve used, including the Dell 2407WFP-HC. Response seems better too.
Because of the size you can see some jaggies when sitting real close (desktop), but not bad at all. I like using it for email and web browsing. Photoshop reveals the resolution limitations with this size screen (jaggies). But it still serves for that if you need it to.
The only thing I don’t like is the silver trim on the bottom bezel. But it’s no big deal. Minor cosmetic. Overall the lc sharp has a nice look to it. It feels nice and deluxe. The buttons work well, and are conveniently placed. It would be kind of nice to have more than two HDMI inputs as well. I don’t know why they bother with the VGA input on these. Why not drop a DVI plug right there. But no one seems to do that. DVI to HDMI adapter works fine and is cheap on amazon.
Shipping to my door was successful, but could have gone bad. HDTV television was double-boxed, which is good. But the outer box had partly opened up and lost half its peanuts. So I almost refused the shipment based on that except that it still looked ok.
LCD Projection TV was easy to setup. Attaching the base required screwing some metals parts together. I’ve never used it to watch cable tv, so I don’t know how it would look or if the channel-change lagtime really is annoying like some people say.
