5.0 out of 5 stars Sharp Aquos LCD HDTV is a good buy,
I read many reviews some positive and some negative, I went with the positive ones and my own experiences with other Sharp 720p LCD products. I have had a Sharp Aquos LD37D44U 37-Inch LCD HDTV for about a month and must say that I am very pleased with it so far.

The picture quality is very good and it has every connection that you may want on the back. I am using the HDMI connection from a HDTV Verizon FIOS Box. I have no problems with any lines or dead pixels as some have written about. If you are looking to buy a solid TV and not over pay for a name, then consider buying one of the Sharp Aquos LCD TVs.

    4HD TV by Sharp
Liked the price and the no sales tax, no shipping charges and very happy with the product. It does hesitate before bringing up the HD picture and I don’t know if that’s due to the TV or Comcast. Delivery and set-up was excellent. Would buy again from Amazon.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sharp 37-inch LCD HDTV,

I believe this 37 LCD Sharp to be excellent in every way and is a great value for its price. My initial purchase about six months ago was for myself. We have enjoyed it so much, I purchased a second on behalf of my bother in law. They also agree with my opinion. Again, an excellent product.

5 Great display for bedroom applications!,

Normally I wait a few months before giving any sort of review on high ticket items such as this XBR TV simply to give time for issues, if any, to surface.(See my review of the KDL-52XBR4). But in this instance I already know I have a great piece of hardware and feel no reservations about writing so early on.

I have had this HDTV XBR for about three weeks now and I love it. I bought the LCD HDTV 32 inch simply becuase it harbors most of the same things my larger KLD-52XBR4 model does. Namely, native 1980×1080p resolution, Bravia 2 engine, a myriad of controls for in depth picture calibration, numerous HDMI unputs, etc.

Initial setup is a snap, as the television hdtv asks simple questions with regards to language and region, what type of signals it can expect to receive, and what other components, if any, should it expect to be connected to. Once set up the tv works like any other. SD programming looks pretty good since it’s a smaller panel, and HD programming shines given its native 1080p resolution. Since I purchased this for the bedroom I only have a Sony upscaling DVD player conected to it, but I am utilizing the Bravia Sync feature and I love it. All I have to do is hit a button on my remote, select the device I want to use, and everything I need for that device turns on. This translates into not having to get out of bed. The speakers are great for a set this size regardless of the output setting you choose.

As far as cons, I don’t really have any to list. After reading some of the other reviews I can’t verify the ’smelly’ review, as this tv doesn’t run hot for me at all. I have it mounted on my bedroom wall, so it’s possible that the placement of the tv with regards to surrounding items/cabinets/armoirs might make a difference. Also, please note that contrary to what the features checklist (above) states, this television does in fact have Sony’s XROSS Media Bar (3D on-screen feature navigation). I don’t know why it states otherwise, but it leads me to think that maybe the checklist was released prior to Sony’s new line of smaller tv’s for 2008.

All in all, this HDTV XBR is great and works perfectly as a bedroom set. It saves tons of space when mounted to the wall and has plenty of connection options for any device you might want to plug in. The remote is nice, although I wish it had a backlight feature like the one for my XBR52 does, which makes for easy navigation in low-light situations.

I agree that while this television is priced higher than other telvisions in its size class, it is completely worth it for all the options it comes with. Some might argue that 720p for a panel this size is fine, but once you have 1080p it’s hard to go back, and this is the only television currently offering a native 1080p resolution for its size. Recommended!

    Customer Television Projection Reviews

The SAMSUNG LN40A550 40 inch lcd hdtv delivers the sharpest. This television is truly something to be admired. I’d say it’s also a work of art.

I have a high definition cable box with an HDMI cable to the TV and the HD channels are superb. I mean, the picture is totally 100% crystal clear. I have windows behind me and somehow there is virtually no glare. Yes, the TV looks better when it is dark outside versus light outside but it’s perfectly great when it is light outside.

I’m writing this review on my couch. My laptop is connected to the TV via a VGA cable with a wireless keyboard and mouse. Unfortunately my laptop does not have HDMI but I can see very well with the VGA cable. Needless to say, I am going to become much more lazy as a result of this projection lcd.

The 40 inches is great for my viewing pleasure. I’m sure 46 is bigger but I am 100% content with 40 inches. It comes down to price. I did not want to pay more than $1,200 for a TV (that’s $100 a month for 12 months using the Amazon Store Card). So this was a no-brainer for me.

If you are in the market for a 40 lcd hdtv, I highly suggest this one. It is truly a wonderful TV. The “only” thing that isn’t 100% perfect is the sound. The sound is good mind you, but it is not as perfect as the picture. But for the record, I have not played with the equalizer which people report helps the sound.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Value - Nice looking televisions hdtv!

We purchased this projection lcd and Amazon’s shippers CEVA set it up on April 10, 2009. The shipping company was 2 hours late but that’s for another review!

This tv looks really nice! I recalibrated the settings according to AVS Forum so I could compare, but I have to say the factory settings are very nice too. They are just a little bright. The tv hooked up in seconds. We do not have HD in the house yet and the standard coaxial cable still looks very nice. DVDs look outstanding.

Previous reviews state the sound it bad, and it is…really bad. It is hollow sounding. I hooked up to the surround system so no worries. I think we got a great deal for less than $800! I look forward to using this tv for many years!

    AWESOME television 1080p5
1080p Full HD is within reach with the 40RV525U. I recently purchased this tv about 2 weeks ago. I had about a 1 and a half month long process of comparing/contrasting tv’s. I compared the samsung 40 inch lcd tv a550 to this one. only big difference is contrast ratio. 30,000:1 (samsung) 15,000:1 (toshiba). as well as $80 price difference. I finally came to a final decision on the toshiba. I went to a local best buy and compared the toshiba to other top of the line lcd’s (sony, samsung). I virtually saw no difference in the picture. I also have my blu ray player hooked up via hdmi. COULD NOT BE HAPPIER!! the picture is awesome. my xbox 360 looks absolutely stunning as well. the reviews are true that the sound on this tv is not up to par. but not many lcd’s have great speakers because of the small size the speakers need to be to fit in tv. Which is why home theatre systems were invented, problem solved! I definetly recommend this tv to anyone looking to stay around th $700 range. its the best lcd you can purchase in this price range! I’d save yourself a $100 bucks or so and try out this toshiba lcd hdtv! you will not be dissapointed!

    lcd hdtv review4
Bought this projection lcd after our sony kdl46s4100 went kaput within 4 days. 40″ is smaller than a 46″, but not by much. It has built-in features such as CineSpeed and DynoLight, which are supposed to make your movie viewing experience close to that in a cinema; but frankly, I don’t really know how much better these features have made a regular DVD any better than they already are (sorry, not bluRay yet).

The TV tuner seems to be better than that of the Sony we had. We use a rabbit ear antenna with enhancement features, and this set has picked up three extra channels than the Sony did - albeit these additional channels are all religious channels that we don’t really care for.

Not sure how much output power the speakers have. We only use the built-in speakers for TV and Wii; as for DVDs, we pipe the sound to a 5.1 with fiber optics. The picture size features are badly named. While “native”, “full” and “4:3″ make sense, we have no idea what “Theatre 1″, “Theatre 2″, “Theatre 3″ and “Natural” actually mean. Just different types of zoom modes, I guess.

What bothered me the most is how its PC (or VGA) port only displays up to 1050×768. If you want to get 1080p for your computer, you must get a DVI/HDMI cable (I got a 10′ cable from monoprice dot com for about 18 bucks). However, the default picture setting has over-set the saturation, so the green and red look as if they are going to melt the screen and burn my eyes out. I had to lower the color setting to lower the saturation. But quite frankly, 1080p is bit too small on the fonts (I know I can change the DPI, but I don’t want to), so I reverted back to 1050×768 (shhhh… don’t let my wife know that or she will yell at me for buying that DVI/HDMI cable for nothing).

Good lookin’ TV for little money!5

Take your home entertainment experience to the next level with the Samsung 42 HDTV. Like a few others I have read here, I am new to HDTV. I did a bit of research and narrowed my choices to this samsung plasma and the Panasonic TH-42PZ85U.

I was looking at the Panasonic because initially I thought I wanted 1080p resolution, but after reading a few articles I decide I did not need it. HD cable is 720p right now and apparently will not be 1080p for some time due to bandwidth issues (although someone more knowledgeable on this topic is free to correct me on this point). And this televisions hdtv is several hundred dollars cheaper than the Panasonic 1080p hdtv plasma. I looked at the Panasonic 720p 42 inch but that model (TH-42PX80U) does not have a PC input, which I wanted.

Anyway I went to my local Best Buy and they happened to have the Samsung PN42A450 and the Panasonic TH-42PZ85U right next to each other, and they both had a great picture. I liked the colors better on the Samsung though–they appeared richer to me.

So I went with the PN42a450 from Amazon. Best Buy’s list price beat Amazon’s, but when you factor in free shipping and no sales tax, Amazon had the better deal by about $70. I’ve had the TV for about 6 weeks now, and I love it. Baseball games and movies look great on this plasma 42 inch.

A few words of caution about my experience with the free shipping: you do get what you pay for. In my area at least, the company that Amazon contracted to do the delivery did not seem to have a particular specialization in electronics or TVs. The guy who delivered my samsung 42 plasma tv was courteous and helpful, but did not have a high degree of knowledge about plasma TVs. First of all, it was only this one fellow win an unmarked white panel van full of boxes. He was pulling the TV out and was going to bring it into my house by himself and he was kind of awkwardly carrying it (it really is a two man job to keep it level) so I helped him carry it in. Also this TV comes in a special box that lifts off of the TV so that you don’t have to lift the TV out of if. The delivery guy didn’t understand this (and neither did I initially). First he was going to lay the box on its side to slide the TV out which from what I understand is not the best thing to do with a plasma TV (laying it on its side can possibly damage the huge piece of glass that makes up the screen). I didn’t know much about plasmas but knew enough to stop him from doing that. Finally we cut the box apart to get to the TV, after which point I found out that the box can lift apart by itself. So I ruined the box which I could have saved to safely transport the TV if I ever need to move. Not a huge deal, but it would have been nice to keep the box.

Forget LCD, this DLP HDTV is way more bang for the buck!5
The Samsung Television hdtv also has a huge 61″ screen that surprisingly doesn’t take up much room. When I got serious about buying an HD tv, I of course started looking at LCD and how much I could afford. There are so many variables in LCD selection and I became thoroughly confused and then you throw in the Plasma option and things got even more confusing. I had taken a trip to a friends house and he had a Sony dlp projection and that started me looking at DLP. First of all, there aren’t all the confusing numbers to look for. No 120Hz concerns, no refresh rates to compare and best of all, I can get way bigger for a lot less money. I was sold on DLP. Well only 2 companies offer projection these days and the Samsung DLP HDTV in the winner hands down, due to the fact that the 750 series doesn’t have bulbs that burn out. They use new technology LED lights and mirrors that will last the lifetime of the LED DLP (60000 hrs+).
Go to a big name store such as Circuit city or Frey’s and compare. The price for a 52″ good quality Lcd will run anywhere from $2200-$3500 or more. Then look at the 61″ Samsung for well under $2000 (I bought mine through WarehouseDeals.com for under $1300). The only disadvantage to DLP is that you can’t hang it on the wall, but these tv’s are only 14″ deep and regardless of what the sales people tell you, you don’t have to be directly in front of them to see the picture. they have a come a long way. Make sure if you purchase one of these, that you update to HD converter box and purchase an HDMI cable to connect the two. The HDMI cable made all the difference in the world for picture quality. I LOVE my DLP Samsung TV and you will too!

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty Decent Budget Television,

I purchased this lcd 32 hdtv at Office Depot (sale <$380.00) recently. Overall, it is a nice set for the price paid (3.5 out of 5 stars). As most people know by now, you MUST have HD reception to get HD quality! This televisions hdtv set has acceptable performance with standard cable with analog hook up. These new sets are just not equipped to handle the lower resolution feeds of standard cable. They perform much better with digital or HD feeds, which is where they excel! On HD, the Memorex performs just okay, considering its price point. You shouldn’t expect Sony LCD quality from a budget LCD. I use this lcd 32 inch tv set mostly as a second computer monitor and gaming monitor for my son’s Xbox 360. My set did come with a registration card (for the warranty) written in English. No dead pixels on mine, either. Incidentally, this tv projection lcd set is a dead ringer for the Viewsonic line of LCD’s.

Overall, I would recommend the Memorex as a good guest room, office, or play room set. The fit and finish is impeccable. You just can’t beat bang you get for the bucks you’ll pay.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent value, wish I had another one,

As several of the other positive reviewers have mentioned, I got my set at Office Depot for $380…I wish I had bought 3. This LCD Projection TV set is an awesome value. I am using it in my bedroom hooked up to an upconverting DVD player and straight cable coax. The DVD looks great and the cable on the HD channels looks good. I see some very slight “spotlighting” on the screen in the corners with a solid black field. Bottom line: this is a great TV for the price.

Do not be put off by the negative reviews, the most expensive Samsung or Sharp can come with a dead pixel and I am pretty sure that the guy with the warranty card issue could have contacted Memorex and verified that it is indeed covered in the USA.
